MOT FAQS

If this is your car’s first MOT, you’ll need to take your VC5 – that’s your vehicle logbook. You will also need your logbook if your car has a new registration number. Otherwise, you don’t need any documents – just the car itself.

It is illegal to drive without a valid MOT. If your car has failed, and the date on your certificate has passed, you can only drive your car to be repaired or to a pre-arranged MOT appointment, and only if it is roadworthy.

An MOT is a legally required test that should be conducted annually to ensure that your vehicle meets basic road safety requirements. It involves dozens of checks ranging from the exhaust, brakes and fuel system to the lights, mirrors, seat belts, and windscreens wipers.

Any car that is three years or older requires an MOT test every year to renew its legal certificate. If you have a new car this will require an MOT test after 3 years.

It is against the law to drive a vehicle that does not have a valid MOT certificate. You should take your car into a test centre immediately and only drive on the road again if your car successfully passes the test.

Car Servicing FAQs

If you can’t find a service book or evidence of it being stamped, then we advise you book your vehicle in for servicing. You will receive a thorough inspection to ensure it is safe to drive.

The two levels of service include minor and major. A minor service involves having the oil changed with a new filter, this could also include a tyre check and topping up the screen wash level. A major service includes all of the above but also includes adding new brake fluid.

We advise to keep an eye on the emissions of your vehicle. With the latest 20mph rule change, vehicle engines operating at a very low speed does not help the engine get to a decent temperature. The exhaust on your vehicle works to destroy the emissions, and driving at this speed can cause soot to build up. This means the car engine can not clean itself, so it will need to be professionally cleaned.

Air Conditioning FAQs

You should get your air conditioning serviced once every 2 to 3 years at a minimum.

Dust and dirt can get deposited into the filters if it is not serviced regularly. If left untreated, this can cause permanent system failure.

TerraClean FAQS

No. It uses highly defined fuel which can cause no harm to your vehicle or any components.

Generally a TerraClean is due after around 15,000 miles.
